Harmonetta (11)
Hans Bibus (thanks to friend Art Daane)
Hans Bibus was a personal friend of Larry Adler. Being a musician himself
he found it impossible to listen to Larry when he played his snarling chord
sequences on the chromatic harmonica. Having great trouble all his life with
his back, Hans had to go into hospital and having plenty of time to think, he
thought of the harmonetta amongst many other harmonicas and invented them. The
hardware was then built in the labs of the Büli factory of which he was a
director. For Hans, the Harmonetta was never a money maker but it pleased him
immensly. Between 1956 and 1958 Walt Miller was engaged by Hans to demonstrate
the instrument in Europe. At the same time Walt wrote compolsury pieces for the
World championship and an Album for Hohner. Walt Miller was the test pilot for
Dr. Dorner of Hohner and their efforts to introduce the instrument were
successful. Below some pre-prototypes of the Harmonetta
